Born in UAE, Settled in India, Living in Japan; 1985

I never saw any magic in the camera, never understood why cameras had to tag along on a vacation, why they simply had be in the audience at a dance recital or on the sidelines at a soccer match. I never understood why pictures were preferred to tell stories when the spoken and written word would suffice. Nonetheless on a cold uneventful evening, in a moment of sheer indiscretion and youthful imprudence, to encash a few discount coupons I received with my internet connection, I hastily bought a camera. My initial phase of guilt and regret matured into acceptance and apathy gradually evolving into experimentation and discovery. A couple of months afterwards, I am starting a photoblog which still however is pretty amateur at best. Maybe it’s just a passing whim, maybe its not, maybe I have to explore more to understand where this journey I so impulsively embarked on, shall lead to.

In this age of DSLR supremacy, it could sound trifling and puerile  to be photo-blogging with a compact point and shoot camera. Nevertheless, I love the fact that my Sony DSC RX 100 is subtle, inconspicuous and unobtrusive, the fact that despite being small enough to fit into my pocket, it still helps me capture the vividness and freshness of the moment. This platform is pretty much about helping to relive the awesome moments my life has been witness to, to remind me of the immense power of love, nature, faith, music, friends and family. It teaches me to be thankful for the blessings that our lives abound with, inspires me to strain to see the silver linings of hope when it’s all but clouds around. I couldn’t have been happier to share these fine moments with you. I appreciate that you took the time to stop by today.
